PhD and First class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree in an appropriate branch/discipline with a good academic record throughout. A minimum of three years teaching/ research / professional experience, excluding the experience gained before and while pursuing a PhD. The candidate should have demonstrated research capabilities in terms of publications in reputed journals and conferences. Candidates with a PhD but with less than 3 years experience can be considered for Assistant Professor (Grade II).

Specialisation in Microeconomics/ Macroeconomics/ International Trade/Public Finance is desired.

Minimum 6 years Teaching/Research/Industrial experience of which at least 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent in IITs or similar institutes of national importance or at an equivalent level in any other Indian or foreign institutions /institutions of comparable standards.
